Gorillas rank among the “Best of the Best”
Amarillo, TX 3/9/10 – The Central Hockey League released their annual “Best of the Best” awards Tuesday with the Amarillo Gorillas earning several honors.
“Best Fighter” (Pound for Pound): 3rd Place Chris Cloud
“Best Power Forward”: 3rd Place David Nimmo
“Best Coach”: 3rd Place Brian Pellerin (2 first place votes)
“Best Mascot”: 3rd Place Stomp (1 first place vote)
“Best Arena Music”: 3rd Place Amarillo Civic Center (1 first place vote)
The “Best of the Best” annual poll highlights and identifies the top three teams in 46 different categories voted by coaches, players, and staff throughout the league.
The Gorillas will begin a stretch of four games in five nights starting Wednesday, March 10th at 11am CST in the Amarillo Civic Center. Show tickets are $8 each for children 15 and under who attend the “Kid’s Day Game”.
Friday, March 12th is “Throwback Night”! The Gorillas will wear a classic “Amarillo Wranglers” style jersey that will be auctioned off after the game. The first 500 fans will receive rally towels courtesy of H&H Print Wear & UniFirst. Puck drops at 7pm CST in the Amarillo Civic Center and show tickets are only $10 each.
